At the Migration Agency, we work with one of the major societal issues of our time – migration. In total, we are about 6,000 people here, and we have an unusually important job!

We are looking for migration case officers for asylum processing in Uppsala.

With us, you will work on current societal issues that are affected by what happens in our surroundings. Issues that concern and engage. We offer a dynamic environment characterized by meeting people and continuous learning.

What does a migration case officer do?

With us, you will handle, investigate, and prepare proposals for decisions in asylum cases. The decisions have legal effects for individuals and affect their rights to benefits, rights, and obligations. The work is largely performed independently based on laws and other legal sources as well as applied guidelines and practices. In your role, you will have contact with individuals seeking residence permits in Sweden, as well as other stakeholders.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is analytical, structured, and enjoys writing. Our decisions are in Swedish, and we place great importance on their high linguistic quality. It is important that you can collaborate with colleagues and are flexible and meticulous. To thrive with us, you need to easily adapt to and relate to changing circumstances. The role of a case officer requires good planning and the ability to work independently towards set goals regarding processing times. In our work as civil servants, high demands are also placed on judgment and a high awareness of security and confidentiality.

You who apply have

  • A university degree of at least 120 credits with a legal, social science, or behavioral science focus or other education combined with relevant experience for the role.
  • Knowledge of administrative law matters
  • Experience in work requiring good service and professional treatment
  • Very good ability to write documents and materials of high quality
  • Good knowledge of the Office suite

It is meritorious if you have

  • Current experience in working with administrative law matters
  • Experience in case handling

Employment type: Permanent with a probationary period

Working hours: Office hours

Location: Uppsala, business trips for investigations in Märsta may occur
